The Starry Night

The Starry Night is the masterpiece of post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh. The painting was made in the sanatorium of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where he was held towards the end of his life, in mid-1889, thirteen months before his death. Van Gogh used moistened oil and fine brushes to do the work.
